Ford has been around since the early 1900's, but it isn't until recently that they started exploring electric vehicles. Announced in November 2019, Ford put the Mach e on display for the world to see. Ford, like other large OE's has been relatively slow to get into the electric vehicle market, showing little care as Tesla and other manufacturers plow forward. Ford will have to accelerate it's game in the electric vehicle market if it wants to remain a serious player by 2040.
Currently, Ford has one all electric vehicle for sale: the Mach e. The Mach e is part of the Mustang family, and brings a lot of new tech the company has been working on together in one vehicle. You could argue this is Ford's shot at Tesla, creating a Model Y like looking vehicle, and being a decade behind the eight-ball. It incorporates a large center touch screen and has similar specs to the Y: Starting in the 40k, 5 seats, and 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. The Mach e comes in four different trims, ranging all the way up to $61k, and going as quick as 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
The Mach e supports a range of between 235-300 miles.
$42-$61k depending on range and acceleration.
