For Rivian's relatively short amount of time it's been in the limelight, it's been around since its founding in 2009. In 2021, Rivian began delivering its first orders to customers who've been waiting for either the R1T or R1S. Rivian has been touted as the closest thing to Tesla since Tesla itself came out. They decided to instead of starting with a high end sports sedan BEV to start off with a high end pick-up truck and SUV BEV (battery electric vehicle). With over 30K pre-orders, Rivian has a large production to get underway.
Rivian currently has two models released and deliveries start this year. The R1T is Rivian's pickup truck and the R1S is their first SUV. Both vehicles have similar specs in terms of acceleration, range, and top speed.
Between 250-400 miles depending on the options you select.
Both Rivian models cost between $70-80K depending on options like battery range and wheel set.
Since Rivian is just starting delivery on its first set of vehicles nothing has been announced for a follow-up model, but we're on the lookout for news and rumors of it daily.
